The year is 1715 and the Pirate Republic has been established. It will be up to you as a committee to guide the future of New Providence and possibly Piracy as a whole. Currently the Governor of the Bahamas has given you guys the go ahead to pirate to your hearts desire, if he tried to fight you’d probably overthrow him anyways. Not all is well though in the Republic. Firstly, the Republic it does not really exist. The Pirate Republic was never an official country, and more of a nickname for New Providence and the Flying Gang. This in our timeline led to the massive internal division and gave pirate rule an expiration date, this internal division still being widely prevalent in Nassau. The other massive issue is the possibility of a Kings Pardon. While nothing is clear to you yet, it is obvious that if the Pirates are to continue their mass indiscriminate raiding, then it is likely that the British will finally put their foot down out of necessity. There are other small problems. Usually when a nation forms, they’re expected to take care of the citizens. While Nassau and New Providence are not horrendously underdeveloped by any means, if the Pirates were maybe put their booty to the creation of infrastructure, then Nassau may find itself even more wealthy then Port Royal. And of Port Royal, some pirates view Port Royal as part of the lands of a Pirate Republic. In fact, they think Nassau owning Port Royal would be a nice recompense after being denied entry there. Other colonies in the new world could be ripe for the pillaging and control from Nassau if the Pirate Republic wants to expand itself. However, aggression against colonial empires may not end in kind for our Pirates, so options will have to be weighed carefully. The time is to see if the pirate republic will cement itself in shanty and song, and become a full and true nation, or will it, like in our timeline, be relegated to the dustbin of history, no one remembering the exploits of the nation as dead men tell no tales.
