I Have A Dream, Girls
From steppin’ to the bad side to sitting at the front of the bus, this committee, set in the world of Dreamgirls (2006), is a tribute to the cultural and social significance of black music in the Civil Rights Era. Delegates are highly encouraged to have fun and be theatrical (within reason) for music-related elements of the committee; however, they are also highly expected to engage the historical elements of committee with maturity and nuance. The 1960s-70s are rich with both cultural and social topics of discussion, and delegates should be committed to genuinely participating as such. Let’s get to steppin’ and make some dreams come true y’all!
